Content of the Lecture
In this course the topic knowledge management in companies is discussed from the view of informatics. Therefore, the first part of the lecture focus on the disscusion of different models and terms of knowledge management. The main part of the lecture focuses on methods to support the key steps of knowledge management, like knowledge extraction, organization, and usage of knowledge.
Concrete Technologies, which are treated in this context are:
- Information Search
- Text Mining und Informations Extraction
- Expert Search
- Analyse of Social Networks
Organization
The course is split up in a lecture and an exercise. They are taking place once a week according to the following timetable:

Here, we provide a test exam from the year before. Please note, that some exercises are not longer actual since the lecture is reset this year.
Exam
The exam will take place on the 17.06. The exact time and place will be announced at the "Studierendenprotal" (https://portal.uni-mannheim.de/) of the University of Mannheim.
